WeWa Week: ?

So I've technically been on Weight Watchers for about 8 weeks, but I took a three week holiday hiatus (oh the shame!) and gained the lbs. (that I had quickly lost)-- back.

The good news: I have been completely back on track since NYE. I know, a whole day earlier than the rest of the world! I have been making mini goals almost every day and it's completely helping. WW is going great, but I've also been walking and working-out more than I have in months! It feels amazing and I finally feel like I'm back on a roll. I still need to re-lose a lot of what I gained back since my graduation, but I'm not looking back anymore. Only forward. So far I'm about 7lbs down! Not bad, but not great. I have a goal to lose 5 more by Valentine's day, and I know I can do it!

The WW website offers a 12 week "Buff Bride Challenge". I love a good challenge, so I plan on starting it next week. My arms need some serious work.

My new favorite discovery is that blockbuster online has workout DVDs to rent! I really do love working out at home, since it eliminates the whole, "I don't want to drive to the gym" excuse (a big one for me), and now that I can really switch it up, I also eliminate the, "I'm sick of this workout" excuse.

Anyone have any good recommendations?

WeWa Week 1: -4

I thought WeWa was more fun than WW. No?

So..drumroll...I've lost four pounds-gone!
I definitely did not eat as great as I thought I would, but lo and behold, when I logged my points, I only went over one day. The rest of the days it was really difficult to eat my entire allotment.

I ran into a friend of a friend Friday night and hardly recognized her. She has lost 44lbs since July, and she looked incredible. She is a huge advocate of WeWa and told me (very sternly) that you must eat all of your points in order to lose! She has had a loss every single week since she started and I found her tips to be very inspirational. It's hard to argue with a skinny woman who used to be not so skinny.

I haven't been following TBL Families this season, but saw this article and could not believe the before and after. This couple reminded me of me and B-both of us have different porportions, but I bet we are around the same size as this couple (in the before pic). Check out the after shot! Amazing.

Day 12

So I'm half way through my 21 day challenge. I'll weigh myself again on Tuesday. My eating is definitely back in control, not where I'd like it to be, but better. I have, however been exercising. While I actually do like going to the gym, my schedule just doesn't permit the drive/shower time-so I've been making use of my home workout DVDs. Right after Christmas I purchased Leslie Sansone's Walk at Home DVD package from QVC. While she's a little quirky, it's the perfect medicine for me lately. It's easy enough to zone out a little and still follow along, but challenging enough to get the heart rate up and have me break a sweat before I start my day each morning.

Now that I've been through all of the DVDs, the 4-mile is my favorite. I usually only do 2 miles at a time since it's hard to find a full hour, but the pace is great and it goes by super fast. These DVDs are not for you crazy fitness pros, but for someone like me who is not so much into running, these DVDs have been just right.

dress dread

Yes-I'm dreading shopping for my dress. First, I don't want to be limited by my weight. I want to get a size or two down before I even begin to shop for dresses. Secondly, I don't want to spend a lot on a dress-like I could care less about brand but am very concerned with fit. Lastly, I really have no idea what is going to look good on me, skinny or not-so-skinny. Nevertheless, I've clicked and saved a few dresses that truly remind me of "me". They are all rather similar and all...well...lacy! Who would have thunk?
This is one of the first pictures I ever saved. Unfortunately I have no idea where it's from. But I love the bolero idea. The second one is more "poofy" than I'd probably want, but the top is just so flattering. edit: Thanks to Aletha of Pearls Events akaKnottie MrsPinkAJV for the great info : her Mori Lee gown via Netbride was only $230! Can you say WOW?!

Now that I look at them all together, I realize they are really similar. I think the lace gives such a romantic feel. While I do plan on slimming down between now and OCt 2009-I don't know if I'll be comfortable in the typical strapless number.I am busty-so I do love a v-neck.

So now it's just time to fit in to those samples!
