Moving in the Right Direction

This ad is awesome. Way to play on the emotions slim fast! source

I've been avoiding the scale like mad. My 21-day challenge to jumpstart my dieting efforts lasted about 13 days. And even those days weren't that great. I've gained a substantial amount of weight back since February, when I started to let go of my healthier lifestyle. At that point, I had lost about 53lbs. While it's a very frustrating reality, I'm ready to re-lose the weight I've packed on and start getting down to business.

Overall, I consider myself a pretty healthy eater. I love veggies, love fiber-rich foods and I always drink a ton of water. But for me, it's all about knowing when to say when. I will absent-mindedly eat an entire basket of tortilla chips at a mexican restaurant while waiting for the waiter to take our drink order. I'll clean my plate at those steak places that give you way too much meat and a way too big potato. And if I bake something? Pshh, it will be completely gone in 36 hours.

While I was hot and heavy on my diet from last June to February I was so conscious of my eating. I ate slow, I listened to my body, I thought ahead about what I would and would not eat during a day. I journaled my food, logged on to fit day, went to the gym. I'm so ready to be back in that place. I've already lost 1.5lbs this week! I've been logging on to fitday everyday and am slowly getting back into journaling. The exercising hasn't happened yet-but it's going to. I only fit into half of my jeans and I totally feel uncomfortable---I'm ready! I've been saying that for about 3 months, but this time I feel it. I feel the weight that I've gained and I am remembering how great it felt to be in charge of my own body. I'm ready to lose the other half of this 100lb goal. It's 13mos til our big day (I think-date will be official soon). I have the time to get healthy! I have time to get down to a size where I will feel so strong and beautiful in a bridal gown!

I'm in love with-a-pic-ture

Southern Weddings posted some images from A Bryan Photo today, a blog I had never been to! Let's just say I've been right clicking+saving photos to my wedding file for the past hour. I'm convinced I belong in the south. Just about every single wedding inspired me. This particular wedding made me so happy.

This shot is just plain amazing. The light. The dresses. The hair. The glance back from the bride. Superb!

I love how fresh and vibrant this bride was on her big day.

So in love with these shots!

If You didn't want a Videographer..

Watch this. It will change your mind. A friend made me watch it months ago, and it definitely changed mine. I saw a few pictures of this wedding on the Budget Savvy Bride and it reminded of how much I loved this video!

And if you recognize the guests. It seems every notable wedding photographer was in attendance. The groom is an extremely famous photographer. Check it out. It's long, but very moving.

No.Can.Do.

Sometimes it is easier to wrap your head around what you don't want, rather than make decisions about what you actually do want. So I give you: what I don't want.

First, stephanotis. It's not that I think they're ugly. More like-too perfect. They look fake to me. I've seen them look ok in a mixed bouquet, but I'd just rather not. Since I'm picking on flowers, I'll also note that I do not want any calla lillies. Or any type of orchid. Love them, but too sleek for the rustic look.

Super edgy engagement pics. My DF and I are not the random/funky/let's pretend we hate each other- in- this -pic- type people. I want my e-pics to be hot but more on the"normal" side.
I think Bret and I in matching outfits would be a crack up. Just can't do it. And this pose doesn't go over so well... source

The color blue. Yes, I'm considering navy blue bm dresses. Yes, I'll have something blue. But nothing else.

Lame Favors. Ok, so not that one would use this as an actual wedding favor, but you know what I'm talkin' about. It's either gonna taste good or be super fun.

The Veil Kiss-it's never been one of my favorites. I suppose I wont refuse to take this shot. If it happens, it happens. But if we miss it, all the better. source

I'd love to hear everyone else's no.can.dos.

American Wedding

Not sure if it's the Presidential Race, the recent Beijing Olympics, or just plain patriotism, but I feel the need to have an American Flag at my wedding. Since I'm going for that "homey" feel, having Old Glory in the background seems natural to me.

These flag shots make me want one even more!
