18 & 19 Months

These past couple months have been jam packed and we are loving every minute of it. I still treat you like a baby, but you are making it clear that you are an independent toddler who wants to do things for yourself. You are a sweetheart to your friends and enjoy anything that gets us out and about. You give the best hugs ever and for the most part are a total lover. There's a small percentage of time where you have huge tantrums, but I'm hoping that as you are able to speak more, those will lessen. You are great at independent play and have become a solid napper! I've loved all of the time we've been able to spend together.

St. Patrick's Day we had a bubble party with our play group. Rode the choo choo train, rode the carousel and enjoyed the sunny day. This little amusement park is a lot of fun to have right in our backyard!

We did a gymnastics class once a week during March and April. It was actually amazing to see the difference over 6 weeks. They set up a little course for you guys, climbing and hanging.  You all loved it. You especially loved the trampoline which prompted you to start saying "jump!"

We did a singing and dancing class on a rainy day and you were allll over the place!
I've been doing contract attorney work as much as I can. I've been sent all over and on this day got caught in a snow storm! Not fun for a SoCal native!

You still love purses!
Thankfully you are still cooperative on our morning walks. I walk for about an hour on mornings that I don't work and I'm thankful that you enjoy it!
We did Kindermusik with our bff Caleb and you LOVED it. You love music and loved using the instruments. I wish it was a longer stretch of classes, but it was a fun few weeks.

We make use of the free carousel rides all the time!

Picking you up from Nana's house! Nana has been watching you while I work, and I think you both enjoy your time together. You love her backyard and the piano at her house!
Happy Birthday to daddy! Look at that face!
Getting ready for the local easter egg hunt! Such a fashionista. You love jewelry.

Our family!
Out to dinner for Daddy's birthday. You LOVED the baked cookie and ice cream.

Our playgroup took a field trip to the local market. It was a fun little tour, complete with yummy samples.
Afterwards, we headed to pizza. You were SO happy to have lunch with everyone. You sat here with the twins and colored while I got my salad at the salad bar. I kept looking back to make sure you were ok and you were just beaming. I never know if you're going to be clingy to me, but this was a day where you acted like such a big girl.

You love your Maverick. As soon as you hear his paws coming you yell "doggie!" and some sound for "Maverick". You've grown on him, too!
First ice cream cone was a huge success!

There are quite a few little wineries just a short drive away so we took advantage and enjoyed some wine and a cover band at a family friendly event. We met up with C and his mama and had a blast. Great music, nice wine and a really fun atmosphere. You both had a lot of fun dancing around and running through the vineyards!

We had a really fun playdate at the trampoline park. You loved it, and I had a great time with you!
We went to a luau themed Chamber of Commerce dinner and left you with nana. I was trying to get a picture of just me and daddy, but you had other plans .And I love that sweet face!
5th Birthday party for cousin, Z. Lots of little girls there that were just your age. You especially liked the green cupcakes!

Milestones

The past 8 weeks your gross motor skills have exploded. Climbing stairs and small ladders at the park, wanting to go down the slide and also really climbing furniture at home. While I have to keep an extra close eye on you, this is a big milestone for you since previously you've been very cautious.

your fine motor skills have always been off the charts. You continue to hold crayons and even skinny pens correctly and are able to use your hands to accomplish opening things.

helping daddy plant our vegetable garden! You aren't afraid to get dirty!

Your speech has also exploded, but is still really hard to decipher. You continue to speak with incredible enthusiasm. If only we knew what you were saying! You are mimicking speech more, which is great.

you are able to point out pretty much any object or animal in a book and are following directions very well (that is, when you feel like it).

New words that I can actually understand:
Elmo, butterfly (you are able to spot a butterfly in a picture from a mile away). tweet tweet, meow, roar, moo ( in response to what  does the birdie, kitty, bear and cow say). Turtle, duck, shhhh (complete with finger over the lips), flower.
Crafts at the library

Visiting daddy at work

Eating-  still a great eater. You love PB&J and still love any type of cheese!

Still nursing quite often....

Sleep: Sleep is back on track and you average 11 hours a night and a two hour afternoon nap.

Favorite Toys: You love your play stroller the most right now.
